Our pianos are made of the highest quality European materials, where each component is carefully selected, one by one, as each instrument is truly handmade one by one.  This picture provides a working moment where the highest quality wood is being selected.

Our iron plates are made the old-fashioned, European way: sand-cast, thereafter seasoned, and only the best plates are being selected. We have polished finishes, most even surfaces, with modern machinery to make the plates look stunning. Shiny, smooth, and even, they are considered among the best from Europe.   

Thin layers of special Baltic birch are glued together in a press where they dry for six hours. Then they are taken out to stand for another two weeks. After drying, the wood is shaped according to exact measurements to form the rim. The keyboard, fallboard, legs, keybed and other details are crafted to complete the instrument. Unique, massive support beams add a level of structure well beyond that which is found in other pianos.

Soundboard - creating the rich, romantic and deep sound. These European soundboards are made of the highest quality material possible.

Our craftsmen will now create the magic - the sound that has a long sustain, romantic projection, controlled and responsive colors. There are so many nuances to the craft, and most of it we want to keep secret!   

The soundboard is covered with the bridge which projects string vibration to the soundboard. Experienced craftsmen set the exact location of the bridge and tuning-pins, as the cuts of the bridge are all handmade. The bridge and its position are measured for each piano individually with special tools.

The soundboard is glued separately to the inner rim, and then the inner rim is glued to the outer rim. The cast iron plate is now set into the body of the piano. The pin-block is made of Delignite or Dehonit, both imported from Germany, and is set under the cast iron plate and fastened to it.

The upper strings are made by Röslau Company in Germany. The bass strings are made by specialist at our factory for maintaining the rich sound. The stringmaker inserts a wire through the hole in the tuning-pin. The machine turns the pin three times, wrapping three wire coils around the pin. Each pin is placed through a hole in the cast iron plate and driven into the pin-block. Our pins are from the Biene Company, Germany.

Our keyboards are handmade in our factory or ordered from the Kluge Company from Germany. They provide that uniquely thrilling and sensitive keyboard touch.

Each piano is played and evaluated by a member of the Laul family. Only after such quality control does the piano go back to the final tuning, voicing and regulating.
