Now, where do we differ from other high-end pianos? Our rich and singing sound.
Our piano sound idea could be described as somewhat similar to, symbolically, to composer Johannes Brahms: in his piano concertos the piano soloist is part of the romantic orchestral composition. For example, the Brahm's First Piano Concerto, in which the soloist and orchestra are combined with splendidly romantic, rich, and warm sound. The ESTONIA piano sound could well be characterized the same way: uniquely rich and singing.
The romantic era is known for its huge concert halls which set entirely new demands for musical instruments. Legendary pianists Liszt, Dussek and others performed in concert halls with several thousand seats and were able to fill the halls with the sound of a single piano as powerful as that made by a symphony orchestra. A resonant melody had emerged in these huge theaters. The piano sound had to have a warm ring, similar to that of the human voice, with special singing element cantabile.
In order to perceive the sound in its necessary magnificence, the bass of our pianos should be heard as a separate melodic line, whose depth and solidity give the music spatiality and strength. The bass strings manufactured by our factory and the accompanying structural solutions give the piano its sound characteristics. In order to acquire the necessary depth for romantic music, the body of a Estonia piano is thick and made from strong and rigid wood. The rigid body keeps the energy in the soundboard. The varied thickness in the soundboard design, the correct soundboard crown, and the accurate placement of the bridge - all of these are a part of the secrets of the Estonia sound.
Listen carefully, the sound of Estonia is uniquely rich and singing.
